HART exists to represent community and passenger interests regarding the Great Northern / Thameslink rail service and the station / rail infrastructure and we collaborate constructively with GTR and Network Rail as a recognised stakeholder. Its activities are for the benefit of all station users.

 

It is also affiliated to Railfuture, the UK's leading independent organisation campaigning for better rail services.

 

 

OUR PRIVACY PROMISE

HART is committed to protecting the privacy of its members.

 

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store and use the personal information you give to us. If you have any questions concerning your personal data and how we look after it, then please contact us at committee@hatfieldrail.com.

 

WHAT DATA WE NEED

HART will be the Data Controller of the personal data you provide to us. We only routinely collect an email address from you. If you contact us about an issue, then we may also need your name, address and/or telephone number.

 

WHY WE NEED YOUR DATA

To carry out reasonable administration of your membership, to be able to contact you about HART meetings and railway-related issues via our newsletters and to take up issues on your behalf.

 

We will not collect any personal data from you other than that needed to fulfil these functions.

 

HOW DO WE OBTAIN YOUR DATA?

We obtain your data when you ask to join our mailing list and/or send us an email.

 

WHO WILL HAVE ACCESS TO MY INFORMATION?

Your information will only be accessible to authorised HART personnel, in order for them to carry out their role in line with this Privacy Policy.

 

We will never sell your personal information or let other organisations use it for their own purposes.

 

We will only pass on your information to the train company, car park company or similar organisations, if you request that we assist you with resolving a particular issue and give us explicit permission to advise them of your details in order to assist with this.

 

Other than that, we will only share your personal information where we are legally required to, or as a result of a lawful request by a governmental or law enforcement authority.

 

PROTECTING YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We are committed to ensuring that your personal data is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place appropriate technical, physical and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect from you.

 

In common with many other similar organisations, we use a range of market-leading tools to facilitate our work and protect your details:

 

We use Mailchimp as our Data Processor for managing our mailing list and sending out newsletters.

 

We use Twitter for engaging in discussions and updating our website via a feed: https://twitter.com/CommitteeHart

 

We use gmail for administering our email account: committee@hatfieldrail.com.

Before using these we will always give you the option, via our newsletter or an email, as to whether or not to take part and will provide relevant privacy information.

 

If you become a HART volunteer / committee member, then naturally we will need to communicate with you on matters relating to this, and consents will not be required for those activities.

 

HOW LONG WILL WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

We will only hold your personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to administer your membership. You can request that we delete your information by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of newsletters (if we just have your email address) or by emailing a request to us at committee@hatfieldrail.com. If at any time you indicate that you no longer wish to receive HART communications, we will delete your data from our records.

 

WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect, you can request to see this information, and have it corrected or deleted.

 

If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact us at committee@hatfieldrail.com to have the matter investigated.

 

If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are not processing your personal data in accordance with the law, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office www.ico.org.uk
